I am pleased to welcome you to Aylesbury High School.

We are a busy, friendly and highly successful community, with a distinctive character.  This website will give you a flavour of the school; please read about our achievements and share our hopes for the future.  Do have a look at our new prospectus and DVD by following the link to our prospectus section on the left.

In 2006-7 we broke the World Record for pulling Christmas Crackers, were in the World Final of the KidsLitQuiz, raised £10,000 for charity, represented the youth of the UK at the J8 summit in Germany, welcomed visitors from our partner schools in Kenya and India, visited a dozen different countries, had about 40,000 lessons(!) and sat 4,000 public exams - you can see a summary of the results below.

2007-8 looks as though it is going to be just as busy!

Our 2007 exam results were a real credit to all concerned. The headlines are:

Key Stage 3

  • Excellent results in the National Curriculum tests - our best ever!

Key Stage 4

  • All students achieved 5+ A*-C grades.
  • 63% of GCSE entries were A* or A grades.
  • 44 students took AS exams in Year 11 and did extremely well.
  • Average points score increased from 520 to 532 - more records broken!

A level

  • 50% of A level entries were A grades
  • 80% of A level entries were A or B grades
  • Average points per student increased from 390 to 395 and the average points per entry was 105 - beating last year's records! [An A grade at A Level is 120 points, B grade is 100, etc.]
  • Students were outstandingly successful in gaining entry to the university course of their choice
  • Around a dozen ‘Top 5' (AQA) or ‘Top 10' (EdExcel) letters have been received from the Exam Boards.
An excellent year!
