School Council

Hello and welcome to the School Council page

Here at Aylesbury High School we have a very active and enthusiastic School Council.  Each form has a School Council representative who consults their form about any issues they might have or ideas for improvements around the school.  Each year group (7-11) has a member of the Cabinet who supervise the representatives of the year in order to them to help them to make the most of their role on the Council as well as with issues which need to be resolved by other means.

Every half-term there is a meeting where each year group sends two representatives.  The Head Girl chairs the meeting and a Deputy takes minutes (which will soon be available to view on this website).  Everybody has their say and then there is time for discussion where solutions are found and plans are made.

Each year the School Council is given a budget of £1000 to spend for the benefit of the school.  It has previously been used for things such as picnic benches, friendship benches and storage facilities within school.  We are currently discussing how to best use the money this year so watch this space...

In addition to giving everybody a voice, the AHS School Council is often involved in organising fundraising events within school.  We're a very busy group of students who love getting involved, so please revisit this section of the site to see what we're getting up to throughout the year!
