Ten Year 9 students took part in a Model United Nations project which involved them working alongside students from four other local secondary schools throughout the Spring and Summer of 2011. Most students took on the roles of UN delegates from countries around the world; some represented press organisations such as the BBC and Al-Jazeera. All were paired with students from different schools and worked online to prepare position-papers, speeches and possible resolutions before the day. As well as winning awards for individual performances, our students worked exceptionally hard to take on demanding roles and developed a good understanding of the UN's role in global governance.
